Every pound you lose takes 3 pounds of stress off your knees and 6 pounds off your low back.
They don’t have to pay and it is not in their financial interest to do so. Our country spends a trillion dollars+ a year on healthcare. 2/3 is spent in the last 3 months of life. The average lifespan is now 77 years. At that time, all the problems from weight, diabetes and/or heart disease are typically the cause of death. Additionally, when you reach this stage, you become less of an insurance problem and more of a government problem with Medicare.
Yes, we take walk-ins but we do ask patients to call before they come in for a visit to ensure a provider is onsite during regularly scheduled office hours.

We can see teen patients with parental approval. There isn’t necessarily a cut off on age, however, it all depends on the patients’ medical history and the determination of the provider.
Yes, we help many patients who also have high blood pressure. We always ensure that blood pressure is under control at each visit as well.
It depends on the heart condition. That’s why we are proud to have 1 doctor and 3 nurse practitioners at our office. This is a medically guided, safe program. Everyone’s health is individual and depends on the patient. Once you visit with the provider, they’ll help determine next steps.
Every person’s weight loss journey is unique to him/her. The amount of time it takes you to meet your goal will depend upon many factors that our providers can discuss with you in detail.

I'm not a damn vending machine. Okay, So don't come to my office and expect me to just hand out medicine and push buttons.
These physicians and these clinics you go to that are vending machines are making money off your failure. They're doing something wrong with this medicine.
Do you want a vending machine to help you lose weight for just a three month during the summer, going to the beach, get into a bathing suit and throw caution to the wind when you get back and put the weight back on?
It's okay to choose surgery or weight loss medicines. Either way, we are going to correct the problem. Surgery, though we have to remember, is a little bit more permanent.
Surgeons will send them to a weight loss doctor to have a trial of medicines. And a lot of that is not so much because they're concerned about your weight loss.
You committed to the surgery. You did not commit to the long term, the long haul. And I'm sorry, it's a little bit on the rough side.
I don't look at weight loss as a as a beauty thing. I don't care how much weight you want to lose to look good in a bathing suit. I just don't care. This is all about health.
There's a thing that's being debated within the community now, the medical community called Healthy Weight. Is there such a thing as healthy weight?
You're better off to have two cheeseburgers than one fish sandwich. That's the myth of weight.
You're going to have to put down the mayonnaise and Miracle Whip and the ranch dressing for the rest of your life.
Raspberries. 50% fiber. That means if a raspberry has two calories, you can only get one calorie out of them.
I think I can explain food addiction and sugar addiction, because that's really what we're speaking of is a high fructose corn syrup addiction. Okay. But there is addictions to other food.
There is patients out there that I have seen that are addicted to certain foods, specifically Dr. Pepper. I don't think they quite understand it's not really their fault.
90% of the solution to weight is realizing that you have a problem in admitting to that problem. That's that's that's the correction right there.
There's nothing wrong with starting over and admitting, “Maybe I don't know everything about weight.” I'm okay with that.
I see this all the time with people when they come in and we're struggling and they haven't volunteered a real critical piece of information.
I would say there's so much horrible wrong information out there. You do have to forget it.
There is not a single soul out there that I cannot help lose weight given the fact that they want to come along for this ride.
So in your first visit, I'm going to be taking the fear away. If the fear is your unknown, I am going to sit there for as long as you need me to take the fear away and explain everything to you.
So if you're going to make an appointment to see me, we have to let go of the fear. The fear to make changes in your life. This is not a scary thing.
If you're ready to forget everything you think you know and take control of your destiny, your future, your weight. Click on this link.
A perfect example is physicians. If you are a Medicare provider, you can only charge so much. And every year the federal government takes away a little bit more, and a little bit more, and a little bit more. And this is a real world example of what they've done.
They bought the rights to that pen, told Pfizer, quit making your auto inject pen, we're just gonna make the EpiPen. And she took that price and raised it to $660 from like 50 bucks to $650.
Well, now you're so depressed because you're taking all these medicines that cost so much money to take care of your high blood pressure, your diabetes, your knees giving out, and your stomach is aching you away. Well, I got an antidepressant for that, you can take that every day for the rest of your life. This is how this thing goes, and it's just discouraging, and it's just almost, you just want to give up, and it's like, why? But there is an alternative.
Let's say I'm a big eater, and I spend $10 for breakfast, $10 for lunch. Okay, well, that's $20 a day times 30 days, that's $600.
In the weight loss arena right now, the new craze, and it seems like there's a new craze about once every 10 years, is these medications that they still don't truly understand how they work, but they are a medication that was developed for diabetics, and they're in relatively short supply right now. Kind of hard to get, but they are injectable and quite awfully expensive.
So Moderna is on track to make a 40% profit this year, thanks to the federal government, thanks to the American taxpayers. I haven't gotten my thank you letter in the mail yet from Moderna for making them so much money this year.
This future of healthcare bothers me. You know the access to our health care information, don't like it.
Why do insurance companies not pay for people to lose weight? You would think they would. It's the right thing to do. None of them hardly ever will. They'll fight tooth and nail to pay for bariatric surgery. But the question becomes why?
They look at a lot of scientific studies when it comes to high fructose corn syrup, and while it is the calories are the same, the United States for some reason, kind of turns a blind eye to the addictive nature and the dangers of this addiction.
If it's a gram and it's carbohydrate, it's 3.4 calories. If it's protein, it's 4. If it's a fat, it's 9. Your body does not care where it comes from. That is the only thing it sees.
What you need to know is, what is a calorie. Look it up for yourselves, but I'm going to tell you what it is. It's 15 ounces of water heated up one degree Fahrenheit.
There are things we can do to combat the hunger and not really have to worry about the calories. That is a real interesting topic and a lot of people don't quite understand what that means. And what we're talking about here is fiber. Fiber is non-digestible carbohydrate.
And I've had a lot of people say, well, I just can't give up my soda pop because diet tastes awful. Well, trust me, you start drinking diet soda for a few months, you're eventually going to get used to it.
What do primary care doctors say about Phentermine? Oh man, I've heard a lot of it.
You started releasing adrenaline the minute you started running down the road and it just takes about 5-6 miles to run out of your sugar. Now you're going to burn fat the rest of your journey.
People have looked at other things, waist-hip ratios, neck circumferences, abdominal circumferences, and I think these are all tools we can use, but still, at the end of the day, the body mass index is a relatively close judgment, but it's not exactly precise.
It's a really interesting study, and it was done in 1976. And it's in the Guinness Book of World Records. How long can a human body go without eating?
The more weight you carry, you have to burn more energy walking through space. And that offsets the further calories you're taking in.
I think those are big wake up calls when people have to take a medicine and God forbid a shot every day for the rest of their life. I think that's a breaking point for them. And I think that's when they get scared and realize their own mortality is setting in now.
Now, we can argue about the stress and everything, but that has no bearing on the fact calories in, calories burned determines your weight.
I certainly will ask from the get go, why is it that you feel you need to lose weight? And everybody will have a different reasoning to be for sure.
I want to talk about the truth of weight because you don't need me to lose weight. You might need my help to lose weight, but you don't need me. The only thing you need to lose weight is knowledge. The motivational factor side to it, I can promise you, you're going to feel good.
A child that is brought up by two parents that are obese, so of heavy weight, odds are probably 100% of all offspring will become obese.
So there's hormones, there's drugs that we take that actually mimic these kinds of things. So that's another big reason why we battle our weight with issues. But the women and the weight gain, there's actually a reason for it. That is an optimal time to gain weight when they're expecting to become pregnant. That's what the body is trying to do, reserve energy stores.
I think there's a lot more psychology to it than people truly understand. We eat for parties, we eat for depression, we eat for happiness, we eat because we don't care.
Knowledge is what you need. And with that knowledge, you can gain an understanding and weigh out your variables of what you're actually doing to yourself.
Your stomach is a stupid muscle. It's a lazy muscle. It is the dumbest organ in the body.
When you look at the difference in calories between rice and chips, phenomenal difference. So I tell them, open your eyes.
To get away from high fructose corn syrup we have to break our addiction cycle. And of course, then we get into the debate about artificial sweeteners.
Bacteria cannot live in a pure sugar environment. So the more simple the sugar is, the less bacteria can survive in it. By adding more sugar to foods, more processed, more simple sugars that are smaller in size, will preserve foodstuffs for longer periods of time. Which is why we heard that the shelf life of a Twinkie is like 30 years.
I don't care if you want to eat refined sugar or sugarcane, the calories are still there. If you're consuming more of it, becoming addicted to it, and might not realize it, therein lies the problem with it.
You can Google a meal from 1950 and a meal today and you will notice the portion sizes have doubled. I think a large amount of our problem is that we are getting the idea that quality means quantity, and that's not the case at all.
